Two hundred yards away
A short walk down the road from White Point Vacation Home is the White Point Golf Course. The links are situated on sixty acres of land, adjacent to the Resort. The course offers majestic ocean views on four of the holes with two holes located near a freshwater pond used for recreational purposes by the resort.
Beginning his 15th year at White Point Golf Course Dave Kemshead began his professional career with a golf scholarship to Kent State University. In 1996 he and his wife Collette, and their two boys, began transforming the sleepy little course and now it is one of the premier 9-hole links in the province.Described by many members and visitors as one of the most picturesque golf courses in Atlantic Canada, White Point Golf Course is challenging for the avid golfer with small greens, narrow fairways and strong sea breezes. The recreational golfer will enjoy the quality of the course and the scenery that accompanies it.
The course is a CPGA-rated nine hole course (6,200 yards from the blues, 5,860 from the whites and 5,438 from the reds). There are six par 4 holes (five for Ladies), two par three holes and one par 5 (two for Ladies). The CPGA rating is 67.0 and the slope rating is 115.
Only 7 miles away from White Point Vacation Home is the historic town of Liverpool. There are great restaurants, grocery stores, gift shops and many other activities that are intrinsically linked to the town's rich cultural and historic past. Founded in 1759, Liverpool is known as the 'Port of the Privateers'. The Privateers, during the American Revolution, were permitted to raid enemy ships from New England in the name of the crown. Today it is a great mixture of old and new, great shops and restaurants. Liverpool Privateer Days in early July celebrates this heritage.
